Jim's Place for Parrots was founded by Alicia Weeks in loving honor of her late husband, James Weeks, who dedicated his life to parrot care, education, and responsible ownership. Jim believed parrots were not simply pets, but intelligent, emotional beings deserving of patience, respect, and lifelong commitment.
Inspired by the values Jim lived by, Alicia established Jim’s Place for Parrots to carry forward his legacy—creating a safe, knowledgeable, and compassionate space for parrots and the people who love them. The mission is rooted in ethical care, education, and thoughtful placement, ensuring every parrot has the opportunity to truly thrive.
